For the last two days, a sweet little gray kitty has met me outside, looked into my eyes, and meowed. When I saw her (?) again tonight, meowing and looking at me, I knew something was wrong. Why would a lovely kitty like this still be outside? In the cold? The neighbor said the kitty had been following them around as they moved in, that it wasn’t their kitty, and it seemed very nice. So without slowing down, I scooped up the furry waif on my walk towards my door where I then took it inside for some creature comforts: cream, turkey, warmth, and some scratching. When I presented the opportunity to return outside again, kitty chose to stay inside. After a nap and more scratches, a ball of yarn amused a now playful kitty. I think someone moved and um, forgot to take someone with them… I’ll do my best to find who goes with this kitty, but I have probably, in most all likelihood, become a residence for a sweet, silky soft, gray and white booted kitty.

So university classes are wrapping up next week for December which leaves more time for writing until classes resume. I’m looking forward to a little break in the action. I love what I do, but a little time to enjoy the season and get a little more writing time in is good, too. Here is a poem that I wrote about me and Walt Whitman stacking wood one hot August day and recently provided for an ezine.
It has been a seriously wonderful school year so far. I’ve been more than mostly healthy, definitely happy, rejuvenated, and still feel so incredibly fortunate to be here. Life just keeps getting better. So. Very. Thankful. for the kindness I have been shown and opportunities that I have received. Life is so good.
Things Christmas-y festive are now adorning and brightening my surroundings. This setting is Thomas Kinkade inspired, one of my favorite artists–painter of light. The colors, twinkle lights, and sparkle of holiday decor adds something special to Winter’s dark days and makes being inside more inviting and joyful. The little village is brightly lit with twinkle lights inside. It is so charming with the lights out.
Knitting is an ongoing everyday indoor activity. Much has been finished: scarves, mitts, and hats. There’s a knitter sweater and a doggie sweater in the works, and then a pair of fingerless mitts for a Christmas present. This is a pair that I made from Crystal Palace Mochi Plus. Their colorways are knitter’s eye candy and a super soft yarn.
It’s getting late so I must get to sleep as much I would like to stay up late. Good night and the sweetest of Winter dreams.
